Weather forecast today was for dry in morning and torrential rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Which kind of limited what we could do. #isleofarran #scotland #adventure
So we decided to tour the south end of the island by car round to Blackwaterfoot.
After a drive through the lowlands of Aran along the scenic coast road we arrived to find another stunning beach full of sea birds. We watched the oyster catchers and curlews strutting around before walking down to the far end of the beach to find a bird free section of the beach for the dogs to run on.

After a bite to eat from the sandwich shop we headed back up into the hills. As we approached the top of the road to Brodick I pulled over for a few minutes and noticed a tiny view point sign by the side of the road. So we set off for a walk through the heather which was buzzing with bees to find the view point.

The view of the mountains to the North was stunning then turning to the right and another amazing the view straight down the valley to Brodick.
Heading back to the house hoping to beat the storm I was driving below the speed limit straight through a police speed trap. They looked a bit frustrated as I was going too slow to stop.
Arriving back and still the thunderstorm had not arrived. Eventually we had a short shower of rain but still no thunder. So I gave up waiting and went down to the beach for a swim with the dogs.

As we were paddling around together I noticed and extra head in the water as a seal bobbed up and started to watch what we were doing.
I was cursing as I only had my go pro with me which is useless for anything other than close ups. So all I got was a fuzzy black dot.

The day ended with another beautiful sunset.
