Having been away so much from home recently I had not got round to stocking up with autumn hedgerow goodies.
The blackberries had gone, although if we are lucky a second crop will come through and are starting to ripen.
So I went looking for sloes. When the sloe berries appeared earlier in the year most of them died off. Thankfully a second crop has come through. So whilst not as many berries as last year I still bagged about a kilo and left plenty on the bushes for the birds and other creatures.

I also found some wild apples that I had not seen before. So I arrived home with enough to start a batch slow whisky, apple vodka and put some in the freezer.

Not bad for a couple of hours chilling out with the dogs out in the fields.
