Been a bit of a gap in my blog. I always find October to December a hectic time of the year at home and work so I always seem to get bogged down and forget to escape outside.

To get some fresh air we took a trip to the Brockholes on nature reserve in the Ribble Valley,, Lancashire. We had a pleasant walk but had hoped there would be a few more birds to see.

We timed it well as it was not to busy and the sun was starting to go down giving me a chance to try my new mirrorless camera for the first time.

Word of warning if you go to Brockholes, Dogs are not permitted and the service in the cafe was really bad. I felt sorry for the staff as it’s not been setup to cope with any reasonable volume of customers. So take a picnic and enjoy a walk around the lakes spotting the birds.
